My role User Experience Designer
Project Summary Improve, transfer, and streamline existing household service application flows to live within the Neighborly brand ecosystem.
Personas In-field Service Providers, Appointment Setters, Estimators, Managers
The challenge Neighborly is a house of brands, and continues to acquire more household service companies such as painters, plumbers, landscapers, etc. As they acquire these organizations, they want to improve, replace, or modify the existing applications used everyday to maintain and grow businesses. Since Neighborly has an existing application built by Infogain, we needed to make sure these improved new applications could work seamlessly together. The biggest challenge in doing this, is making sure the users can still accomplish their everyday needs in a faster, smoother flow.
Solution Taking the technical requirements into consideration was the first step, those were provided by our engineering counterparts at Infogain. The design system and inner workings of the Neighborly applications were already set in stone. The solution to creating these new applications was to design more than 100 new wireframe flows that could be easily built for any new Neighborly acquisition by service segment. In this way, the engineers could pick up what we designed and apply the design system to get the new applications up and running in no time.
Results The Neighborly client was thrilled and the process was smooth. The new applications have been easily integrated into the system. Neighborly continues to grow, and our offshore designers now use our wireframes as the blueprints to create even more household service applications quickly and cost-effectively.
