My role UX/UI Designer
Project Summary OwnBackup is a SAAS cloud company that fills a need for Salesforce customers, they provide a safe, reliable, and accessible cloud backup of data. This site redesign, and brand design system update gave OwnBackup a fresh way to tell current and prospective customers their SAAS story.
Personas Salesforce Customers, OwnBackup Users, Investors
The challenge OwnBackup is a niche SAAS cloud company, and the competitive landscape is inundated with companies that look and feel like Salesforce. OwnBackup needed to stand out from the crowd.
Solution To break away from the blue and white world of Salesforce it was important to introduce a new color palette of purples, teals, and dark blue-gray backgrounds. By using a gradient ombre headline type treatment I gave the brand a fresh, youthful, and bright future. This carried into a photo treatment as well, giving the site more human elements. The illustrations are isometric 3d, to simplify and communicate difficult concepts for non-engineer personas. In the design system, a bold new call-to-action button stands out and invites users to engage deeper with the OwnBackup brand. A set of layered transparency icons are used to explain further the intricacies of how OwnBackup keeps data safe and accessible. All of this came together in a user experience that the OwnBackup team could call their own.
Results This guidance and vision has become the backbone of what OwnBackup is now doing with their brand and user experience. No longer are they seen as a Salesforce clone, but as a strong and forward thinking endeavor that is blazing their own trail.
